This is why we typically recommend Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs) which far out performs standard timber frame construction. We work with a number of trusted, high-quality SIPs suppliers throughout New Zealand, allowing us to select the right system to suit each architectural design and project requirements.
SIPs consist of a high-performance insulation core sandwiched between structural boards, creating a strong, airtight building panel. This system enables faster construction while delivering exceptional thermal performance. For homes targeting high energy efficiency, including Passive House levels of performance, SIPs provide a reliable way to reduce thermal bridging and improve overall airtightness.
